All of the tracks on this EP are more or less single, live tracks with minimal editing. This track, though, has zero editing which is maybe completely crazy in the world of advanced technology. Then again I am playing an autoharp, don't own a television, car or a microwave and so that has to tell you something.
lyrics
Sitting at the table that you made for me
The way the morning lights the wood reminds me of your hair
A cup of tea is nestled in my hand
Can you believe I loved you once?
You came and went so many times, you know
With each parting it grew easier to let you go
Now this ship has sailed so very far away
An ocean between us wild and vast
Hold out hope now if you will
Hold my face between your hands
You should know that I don't hate you
But I don't miss you
I hope you understand
A picture that you drew of me that year
Standing by a bridge my face so young, my smile so broad
Territories in my heart once unexplored
Now littered with memories
Of course you couldn't help the heat and cold
Love is like an animal you tried in vein to tame
But even if I stretched my mind for one more thing that I could give
It'd be the strength for you to let me go
Hold out hope now if you will
Hold my face between your hands
You should know that I forgive you
But I won't see you
I hope you understand
Hold out hope now if you will
Hold my face between your hands
You should know that I don't hate you
But I don't miss you
I hope you understand
